    Los Amigos Invisibles – “Not So Commercial”

    The invisible friends from Venezuela are back with a mini-album of tasty leftovers from their previous release “Commercial”, this one is funnily enough called “Not So Commercial” (out February 8.). To be honest, this is not their absolute best stuff, but as always there are some really sexy tracks to be found including the tribute song “Corduroy” that really nails the sound of the Acid Jazz pioneers from back in the day.     Side Brok – “Ekte Menn”

    side_brok-ekte_mennThe state of Norwegian hip-hop is, to put it mildly, pretty pathetic with a few honorable exceptions, Side Brok being one of them. Their unique original blend of funk music and lyrics filled with sly ironic remarks about daily life and biting social commentary is really worth checking out even if you don’t understand a word of what they are saying. Their latest album “Ekte Menn” (follow the link for sound samples) contains five outstanding tracks: “Mann Med Manera”, “Skjemde”, “Nattmat”, “Heile Handa” and “Ej Ser”, so please check it out!
